Societal developments and medical advancements are continuously changing the living conditions and needs of humankind. With demographic trends, gerontology and geriatric medicine are being constantly challenged. The German Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics therefore actively supports gerontologists and geriatricians in aging research and all professionals involved in areas relevant for aging well in implementing research findings in practice.
supports interdisciplinary research and education in gerontology and geriatrics.
supports professional exchange on all levels and the dissemination of gerontological and geriatric research evidence.
supports early-stage researchers via its dedicated career section.
conducts its biennial national congress aimed to present and discuss issues of gerontology and geriatrics, primarily in interdisciplinary perspectives, including international contributors.
